Katie Anderson leads our team at Hearing Support. She consults both adult and paediatric patients.  With boundless energy and years of experience  – Katie quickly establishes patient rapport and can assess and implement appropriate hearing solutions.

“Being an Audiologist has been the perfect profession. It is a blend of science, engineering, humanities and psychology. I’d never heard of it when I began my university studies at the University of Western Australia. I was certain that I’d be a research scientist and pursued that path.

I like being with people, however, and found that laboratory work wasn’t quite for me; so I embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, to continue Postgraduate studies at the University of Melbourne. I didn’t completely abandon research, as I was lucky enough to work with Professor Grahame Clark and the Cochlear Implant Clinic whilst studying.

Once qualified, I have worked ever since in a variety of roles, both with children and adults. I have been fortunate to work in cities and in rural locations across the Continent. Being eternally curious has also proven useful in gathering knowledge, to help people with improving their communication outcomes. It can be quite a journey but it’s one I relish.”
